1. Information in Chime
When you create an account, Chime processes your email address, an adult-eligibility confirmation, and an account identifier. Your profile includes a display name, optional biography, avatar, interests and a city you choose. Room activity may include the rooms you join, text messages and shared-list items you contribute. Rooms only support sending text. Direct messages support text, images and voice recordings. Camera or microphone permission is requested only when you choose to take a photo or record a voice message in a direct conversation, or take a room mic seat. Safety records can include reports and blocks. Payment authorization is handled by Apple; Chime does not receive your payment-card details.
2. How information is used
We use this information to provide account access, profiles, room discovery, room conversations, shared lists, user-selected local recommendations, safety controls and account records.
3. Visibility and sharing
Hiding a message or clearing a conversation changes only your app view; it does not delete the original message or media. Reports and account records are stored in the records of the user they belong to. Gifts are published to the room where they are sent. We do not sell personal information.
4. Permissions and device data
Chime requests camera or microphone permission only when you actively choose the camera or recording feature. Chime does not request contacts, precise location or background location.
5. Account controls
You can edit your profile, sign out or request account deletion in the app.
6. Adults and children
Chime is intended only for adults aged 18 or older.
